Foundation for Agricultural Education raises fundds during State Annual Meeting
Any gathering of New York’s farmers and friends of agriculture is a prime opportunity to raise funds to further the work of the Foundation for Agricultural Education. Farm Bureau’s State Annual Meeting was no exception.

In addition to the breakfast described in the article above, the Foundation benefitted from both live and silent auctions. Dubbed the “Basket Bonanza,” the silent auction had a new twist this year, with themed items grouped to create a basket of goodies. From the bounty of Jefferson County to all things apple to backyard grilling, each basket contained a wealth of products to attract attention and increase the bidding.

Following the Wednesday evening banquet, a few special items were sold during a live auction featuring Farm Bureau’s favorite auctioneer, Assemblyman Bill Magee. His wife, Jeanette, even got into the action when a hockey stick autographed by members of the Buffalo Sabres was being sold.

And the grand finale of the evening was the culmination of a dare dating back to November of 2005. The Foundation collected more than the $5,000 challenge needed to put N.Y. Farm Bureau board member John Radliff under the razor for his first shave in decades.
