Plan to attend Spring Conference ALBANY — Every county should have a presence at the 2007 New York Farm Bureau Spring Conference, scheduled for Friday, April 13, at the Doubletree (formerly Wyndham) Conference Center in East Syracuse. The tentative agenda features: 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. The Misconceptions of Agriculture – Showcasing of this newly released tool created by the AFBF Foundation for Agriculture. Pull the weeds of misconceptions & misinformation from the minds of all consumers…regardless of age. 10:30 – 11:30a.m. How to Make the News Work FOR You! Short Course in making and taking the media advantage. New York Ag in the Classroom Showcase of New Lessons and Resources Journey – Ag Interpreter Updates and Training 11:45 a.m. – 12:45p.m. Make & Take Sessions (Four 15 minute sessions of your choice) 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. NYFB Agricultural Youth Scholarship Winner essay presentation, “How Agriculture Affects My Life Now and In The Future”, Feed the Hungry Project Presentation, Winner of statewide Scholarship Raffle to be selected and announced. Exhibits from various successful events will be displayed. This is an opportunity to “borrow” clever ideas and novel approaches to opportunities to build the agricultural constituency and present the proper face of agriculture. The cost is $15 for the conference alone, $25 for the lunch/breaks alone or $35 for registration plus lunch/breaks. The registration deadline is Friday, March 23.
