Isaacs picked to lead Cornell Ag & Food Park

An upstate economic development leader has been named the executive director of the Cornell Agriculture & Food Technology Park. Steven E. Isaacs will assume the position in early April.

"My primary responsibility as executive director is to bring the private sector, government and university researchers together for the economic benefit of all," says Isaacs, a 1981 graduate of Cornell University.

"The park is attracting a range of organizations and businesses seeking the resources, knowledge and access to world-class research only found here. It’s an exciting time for Geneva and the region."

Isaacs’ new role follows 10 years of experience as executive director at the Yates County Industrial Development Agency in Penn Yan. The park’s board president, Robert C. Seem, believes Isaacs’ background makes him uniquely qualified to lead the park.

"We are so pleased to have found someone with Steve’s experience in regional economic development, as well as a strong understanding of Cornell University, and food, ag, and biological science," Seem said. "These attributes, coupled with Steve’s business acumen and team building skills, will enable the Park to continue its expansion and success."
