Innovations in Ag conference set for April

ALBANY — The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority will host its seventh annual Innovations in Agriculture Conference April 16-18 in the Empire Room at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

Innovation in Agriculture helps New York farmers improve profitability while meeting new energy and environmental challenges.

Agriculture makes a multibillion-dollar contribution to New York State’s economy. To remain competitive, New York farmers continue to seek new ways to cut energy costs, improve productivity, and manage wastes. Session 1: Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) April 16-17
Learn about market trends, technology, and energy factors that are creating opportunities for CEA in New York State. Discuss with key stakeholders how you can participate in the early stages of this growing industry to produce fresh fruit, vegetables and other specialty crops year-round.

Session 2: Biogas and Manure Management April 17-18
Learn about anaerobic digesters, biogas uses, and funding opportunities. Network with innovators developing energy- efficient systems to cut energy costs, manage wastes, improve productivity, add value to by-products, and increase profitability.
