Julie Burgett of Tully has been awarded a $1,000 college scholarship by Dodge division and Sam Dell Dodge. Burgett is the daughter of Onondaga County Farm Bureau members John and Cathy Burgett. A student at Tully Central School and member of the Tully Central School FFA Chapter, Burgett plans to study animal nutrition at Cornell University.

Burgett is one of 50 scholarship recipients from across the United States. The scholarships are awarded on behalf of Dodge dealers to FFA members who are planning to attend college and also are from Farm Bureau families. The Dodge Division 2007 FFA Scholarships for Farm Bureau Families, which is in its eighth year, recognize FFA members for their supervised agricultural experience programs (SAEs), academic achievements and other school and community accomplishments.

Dodge Division and DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund sponsor the scholarships as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

Dodge has supported FFA for more than 50 years and is also the lead sponsor of the American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Achievement Award, Discussion Meet and Excellence in Agriculture competitive events. FFA and Farm Bureau are both dedicated to encouraging young adults to enter agricultural-related careers.
