N.Y. farms typical in computer usage for '07

A total of 63 percent of New York farms had access to a computer, unchanged from 2005.

The U.S. average was also 63 percent of farms have computer access, up from 59 percent in 2005. A total of 59 percent of New York farms now have access to the Internet, up from the 55 percent in 2005.

This figure is 4 points above the U.S. average of 55 percent of farms with access to the Internet. The U.S. average is up from 51 percent in 2005. Additional details of farm computer usage are available at www.usda.gov/nass/
