  The Outstanding Pro-Ed Project Award

Recognition of county programs through a Promotion & Education-sponsored award was established by the NYFB Promotion and Education Committee. The 12th annual presentation of this award will take place at the 2008 State Annual Meeting.

Every county has achieved success via a variety of projects and activities and is eligible to participate in this recognition award so that their ideas and successes may be shared with partners in agriculture throughout New York State.  This is an opportunity for a county to embark on a special project, or put a bit more emphasis (or simply a new twist) to an established project.

ONE award will be presented for a county submission at the State Annual Meeting in December.  The award includes an Excellence lapel pin for each core committee member, a special award and a check for $200.00 for the County Farm Bureau treasury.  “JUDGE’S CHOICE” MAY BE ASKED TO PARTICIPATE IN PROMOTION & EDUCATION EVENTS TO SHOWCASE THEIR PROJECT.

This award is sponsored by the Promotion & Education Committee and is a special and separate award from those sponsored by New York Farm Bureau, such as the Key Award Program.  The application is available via our website at www.nyfb.org.

To be eligible for this award, entry forms must be postmarked by September 1st.  The criteria includes:

  • The project/activity must have been approved by the County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

  • The project/activity may include a specific county committee or multiple committees.  It may be a special program of the County Farm Bureau Board and/or it may include other groups outside of Farm Bureau such as FFA, Cooperative Extension and etc.

  • Applications must be signed by the County President and Pro-Ed Committee Chair.

  • Project/activity must have taken place between August 20, 2007, and August 31, 2008.

  • If a county wins this award, they may not apply again for the same project/activity.

  • Pictures, PR Materials, and other information may be attached to application.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your District representative on the State Promotion & Education Committee, your field advisor, or the staff coordinator.  We look forward to your response and sharing all your winning ideas.
