The Seventh Annual Golf Tournament
Hole in One
at 2008 Classic!
The day was
sunny with a slight breeze and
the golfers were sent off with
instructions by the Golf
Committee Chair, Norbert Amberg.
The roster of sponsors
was at an all-time peak, as was
the listing of golfers (34
foursomes) who sped to their
starting holes to await the
shotgun to start the 7th
annual NYFB Foundation Classic.
The course was in
excellent shape and when the
word came into the Club House
that there had been a “hole in
one” on the 12th hole
the charged atmosphere could be
felt everywhere.
The winning golfer was on
the Porter Agency/Genesee County
Farm Bureau Team.
Travis Smith’s golfing
expertise will go down in the
Foundation history books!
Teammates included Dean
Norton, Mark Masse, and Frank
Penna.

Solutions is awarding a trip for
two to NYC, with hotel, dinner
and theater tickets.
Travis said “I still
can’t believe the whole
thing…..it was definitely a
memorable event.
The only thing that
would’ve made it better would’ve
been winning a car.....Two years
ago on my way home from the same
tournament I actually totaled a
vehicle….so that would’ve really
been ironic”.
Great food, good golf and super
people made this Classic one
that will be hard to beat, but
we are sure that the 2009
Classic will continue the
success story started years ago.
