NY Harvest for NY Kids Week

First week in October

The goals of this week are to help children improve their diets by learning about and eating foods grown in New York.  With the great number of children who buy school lunches everyday, utilizing this avenue of access is a wonderful way to reach your community.

We have the opportunity to be part of this program. We should be able to organize teams to have a presence in schools throughout New York State!

We can provide a variety of agricultural information, in addition to some "treats".  We can do whatever will work the best for our individual circumstances.  With a commitment of a small amount of time and energy, we will have a tremendous impact!

You can make a difference. You need to implement your county's plan right now!  The effects of this week will be long lasting and impact every sector of agriculture.  We need to educate, promote, and build relationships in order to insure a viable industry.

Why not approach your County Board of Supervisors and have them become a partner in a program already endorsed by our State Government? Call your school’s Food Service Director today!   The opportunities are endless.
