Foundation Calendar Provides Tools For Many Facets Of Learning!
Learning can take many forms, and the Foundation calendar allows teachers to utilize a variety of formats to include agricultural education on a daily basis. Like vitamins, the daily agricultural fact provides the basics needed for a healthy knowledge of New York State Agriculture!
More than 3,000 calendars are distributed "free of charge" by the Foundation to 3rd grade classes across New York State. As the students take turns reading a daily fact, their readings skills and ag literacy levels rise! The suggested monthly activity reinforces the ag comprehension.
Many County Farm Bureau members have donated their time and energy to distribute the calendars to third grade classes all over New York. These efforts will benefit each of us who has a stake in agriculture. The teachers' comments are very positive, and the students enjoy their daily "study", which connects to so many of their class activities.
