New York Farm Bureau Joins Coalition Opposing NYS Constitutional Convention

Albany, New York - Today, New Yorkers Against Corruption (NYAC) announced that New York Farm Bureau (NYFB) joined the coalition to educate voters about the destructive impact of a Constitutional Convention. New York Farm Bureau is a volunteer, grassroots organization whose farmer members work to solve the economic and public policy issues challenging New York agriculture and its rural communities.

New Yorkers Against Corruption is an unprecedented coalition, broad and diverse in both its geography and ideology. It is likely the first time in state history that these member groups have come together and galvanized their grassroots advocates for the same cause. This fact is emblematic of just how dangerous a Constitutional Convention would be for New York.

"New York Farm Bureau is the strongest voice for the state's family farms that believe in individual rights and a Constitution that places limits on governmental power. A constitutional convention could dramatically erode important freedoms and rights our organization has worked to protect for more than a century. We are pleased to join this diverse coalition in standing up for our members, and Farm Bureau strongly encourages a no vote this November on a constitutional convention," said David Fisher, New York Farm Bureau President.

"New Yorkers Against Corruption is working with over 120 organizations, representing millions of New Yorkers, to oppose a Constitutional Convention," said Jordan Marks, Campaign Manager of New Yorkers Against Corruption. "As our coalition continues to rapidly expand, we are proud to have New York Farm Bureau join our team and further prove that a Constitutional Convention will not help everyday citizens. The people of New York have no interest in giving the same Albany insiders unlimited power to rewrite our Constitution."
