NYFB Privacy Policy

New York Farm Bureau, Inc., and New York Farm Bureau Member Services, Inc. (hereinafter referred to collectively as “NYFB”) respect the privacy of its members, customers, and site visitors and are committed to safeguarding any information provided to them.

Most data NYFB collects are used only to help us better serve our members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by a special announcement placed on the NYFB website.

Information You Provide To Us And How We Use It

When you apply for membership online, we ask that you provide us with specific information, including credit card data. We use this credit card information solely to process your membership application and bill your account properly. If you prefer not to join online, we offer instructions on joining by regular mail or by telephone.

If you become a member of NYFB, NYFB will contact you with member publications, news, membership benefits information and services (including a variety of carefully screened service offerings though NYFB Member Services, Inc. ) and to verify membership under the vehicle rebate program through Ford and other certain member benefit programs. NYFB also provides your membership information to the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company--our partner in serving the insurance needs of NYFB members--to better serve you. Payment information is not shared with anyone (see below).

Credit Card Account Information

NYFB does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, NYFB submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.

E-Lobbying

If you choose to participate in NYFB’s e-lobbying program, you will need to supply your name, mailing address, and e-mail address. NYFB may contact you via e-mail to say “thank you” for participating. NYFB may also contact you via e-mail or regular mail to ask you to join NYFB if you are not already a member of NYFB, or to notify you about the benefits of NYFB membership.

General Contacts

When you submit a comment or question through our e-mail “Contact Us” forms, we request that you provide us with your name, county of residence, and e-mail address. This information allows us to better respond to your query.

Your Children

The NYFB website does not contain age-objectionable material. However, we strongly urge parents to monitor and regulate their children’s access to the Internet and our site to ensure the child’s privacy is well protected. NYFB does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

Traffic Information

NYFB may utilize technology to analyze traffic patterns on our site. This information is gathered anonymously and is in no way connected with the identity of the user. We use this traffic data simply to discover our site’s strengths and weaknesses and to make improvements accordingly.
